How to Structure Your Organization

swivl allows you to organize your properties into three levels: Organization, Groups, and Locations. These levels help you manage settings and information efficiently, with a cascading structure.

Organization Level

The Organization level is the highest tier. It includes global settings that apply across your entire account and locations. This is where you manage your default settings and ensure consistency across all properties.

Group Level

By creating Groups you can organize your Locations into meaningful clusters based on your business needs. You can group Locations in ways that make sense for your operations, such as:

  • Area: Group Locations by geographic region (e.g., Central, Northeast, West).
  • District: Organize by districts or territories.
  • Manager: Group Locations under specific District Managers.
  • Brand: Combine Locations that share the same brand identity.

Grouping Locations helps you apply shared settings, monitor performance, and streamline management.

Location Level

The Location level is the most specific tier. Each Location represents an individual property or facility. While Locations inherit settings from the Organization and Group levels, you can always adjust them and create custom settings.

For example, by navigating into one of your locations, you can view and edit all the settings inherited from the Group.

You have the ability to modify the Location settings. In that case, that feature will no longer show as From Group and will appear as Custom instead.

You can always switch back to the Group settings by clicking on Revert.:
