Defining Store-Specific Information

Use Store Finder to set information by location

Similar to My Storage, you’ll want to ensure that Store Finder is filled out in its entirety before making your bot live on your website.
We use the information in Store Finder to answer users’ store-specific questions. For instance, if a user would like to know the phone number, payment options, and access hours of the location closest to them, the answers will be pulled from Store Finder.
We’ve included example data below to get you started. If you have many locations, we recommend creating a Google Sheet from our template so that multiple facility managers can fill out the information for their stores simultaneously.

Creating a Store Finder Google Sheet

  1. Click this link: Store Finder Template
  2. Click Make a Copy
  3. Name the document Store Finder Template - "Company Name"
  4. In the upper right-hand corner, choose Share
  5. Under General access, click the arrow next to Restricted and choose Anyone with the link
  6. Click the arrow next to Viewer and choose Editor
  7. Select Copy Link
  8. Paste the link in an email or Slack to your facility managers so that they can start collaborating right away

Store Finder Definitions

  • Location ID: An internal code to identify the store (not required).
  • FMS Facility ID: The ID assigned to the store by the Facility Management Software (FMS).
  • FMS: The specific FMS used for this location (Sitelink, StorEdge, etc.).
  • Address Line 1, City, State, Postal Code, Country, Phone: Enter store-specific information.
  • Pay by Phone: If customers can pay by phone using a dedicated number, enter it here. Otherwise, leave blank.
  • After Hours Phone: Enter the phone number for after-hours support.
  • Store Email: Enter the email address specific to this store.
  • DM Name: Enter the name of the District Manager for this store.
  • DM Email: Enter the email address of the District Manager for this store.
  • Location URL: Enter the website link/unit page for this store.
  • URL Lookup Pattern: We use this to determine if a user is on a location or unit page. swivl will fill this out.
  • Photo URL: Enter the link to a photo of this store. This can be found by right clicking on images on your site and selecting “Copy Link Address.” The image should be about 300px wide in dimensions and try to be under 100KB in file size (definitely not 1MB and above).
  • Wallet URL: Only applicable for stores using StorPass. Leave blank otherwise.
  • Payment URL: Enter the unique payment link for this store, if applicable. Leave blank if all stores use the same payment link.
  • Map URL: Enter the link to a map of the store's facility, if available. Leave blank if not.
  • Brand ID: Leave blank
  • Google Reviews URL: Enter the link to the store's Google Reviews page. For step-by-step instructions on how to create Google review links for your facilities, click here.
  • Office Hours: Enter the specific operating hours for this store.
  • Call Center Hours: Enter the call center hours for this store, if applicable. Leave blank if there's no call center support.
  • Payment Options: List the various payment methods accepted at this store (e.g., Cash, Card, Check, Online, Autopay).
  • Store-specific features:
    • RV Storage: Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Small Vehicle:  Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Trailer Storage:  Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Deliveries Accepted:  Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Video Surveillance:  Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Security Amenities: Enter security type, e.g. “Cameras”.
    • Drive-up Units: Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Climate Controlled Units: Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Heated Units: Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Office Space: Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Conference Room: Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Truck Rentals: Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • 24 Hour Access: Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Lockers Available: Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Lock Type: Enter lock type, e.g. “Noke”.
    • Truck Types: Enter truck types, e.g. “U-Haul”.
    • Parking Type: Enter parking type, e.g. “Covered”.
    • Loading Area Type: Enter parking type, e.g. “Drive-up”.
    • Appointment Available: Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Lead Unit: Leave blank
    • Only Show Unit Dimensions: Leave blank
    • Climate Control Display Name: Enter how you want to call this feature if you have climate controlled units, e.g. “Temperature controlled”. If not, leave it blank.
    • Insurance Display Name: e.g. “Xercor”.
    • Has Elevator: Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Has Wine Storage: Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Has Boat Storage: Enter "TRUE" if the store has the feature, "FALSE" if it doesn't.
    • Spot Location Slug: Leave blank, let us know if you want spot.is
    • Spot Link Slug: Leave blank, let us know if you want spot.is
