Makes outbound calls to leads who didn't finish renting. Proactively reaches out to abandoned cart leads and guides them through completing the rental.

Like the Collections Agent, the Abandoned Cart Agent is part of an outbound sequence - Abandoned Carts. It proactively reaches out to leads who started but didn't complete the rental process.

Sends a link to complete the rental online, or walks the lead through finishing on the call.

Leaves a voicemail if no one answers. SMS and email follow-ups run alongside the call.
How It Works
The Outbound Call FlowAbandoned cart outreach is triggered automatically based on how many days since the lead was created.
1. swivl Dials the Lead
Uses the location's outbound phone number to place the call at the scheduled time.
2. Answering Machine Detection (AMD)
Determines who picked up the phone and routes accordingly:
- Human answered - The agent starts a live conversation about their interest
- Machine/voicemail - The system delivers the voicemail message configured for that day
3. Call Record
After the call, swivl saves the call record and updates the FMS with notes (if enabled).
🧑 If a Human Answers
The Abandoned Cart Agent is essentially a Sales Agent for leads who already showed interest. It follows a structured conversation flow:
- Verify & open - Introduces itself on behalf of the facility and confirms they're speaking with the right person
- Inform - References the specific unit they were looking at (size, features, etc.) and explains why they're calling
- Understand - Asks why they paused the rental process and listens for concerns
- Resolve - Works to help the lead move forward:
- Primary path - Sends a rental link via text or email and walks them through completing the rental on the call
- If they have objections - Addresses concerns about pricing, timing, or logistics with details about the unit and facility
- If they want a different unit - Searches inventory to offer alternatives at the same facility, or suggests nearby locations
- If they're not ready - Offers to schedule a follow-up and emails the store and DM
- If they're not interested - Thanks them for their time and ends the call gracefully
- Confirm & close - Recaps what was decided, confirms next steps, and wraps up
📬 If a Machine Picks Up
The system delivers the voicemail message configured for that specific day. The message is read aloud using text-to-speech and follows these rules:
- Always mentions the facility name ("calling from [Location Name]")
- Keeps it short (2 sentences max)
- Spells out numbers and prices clearly for phone delivery

Configure the Abandoned Cart Agent in Sequences > Abandoned Carts in swivlStudio.

Troubleshooting
⚠️ Leads aren't getting called
- Check that the day is enabled in Abandoned Carts
- Verify the Voice toggle is on for that day
- Make sure the FMS is enabled and syncing leads correctly
- Check that the lead has a valid phone number
⚠️ The sequence is calling leads who already rented
The FMS sync removes leads who have already converted to tenants. If this is happening, please reach out to support@tryswivl.com so we can investigate.
⚠️ Calls are going out at the wrong time
Each day has its own time setting. Check the time configured for the specific day in Abandoned Carts. Times are in the location's local timezone.
⚠️ The voicemail sounds robotic or weird
The voicemail message is delivered via text-to-speech. Make sure the Voice Message text reads naturally when spoken aloud. Write it the way you'd actually say it on the phone.
