⚙️ Setting Up Your Monument FMS Integration
This article walks you through connecting your Monument facility management software to swivl. Once set up, swivl will sync your facility data and route leads directly to Monument automatically.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have the following ready before starting:
- Admin access to your Monument account
- Your swivl account with an active facility
- Your gate or access control provider configured in Monument (more on this below)

Finding Your API Credentials and Facility ID
API Credentials
Your API credentials can be obtained by simply emailing your customer success manager.
- Locate your Monument Customer Success Manager email information
- If unsure, you can reach out to clientsuccess@monument.io
- Email them to notify them that you would like to integrate with swivl
💡 Don't Skip: You will need to reach out to your Monument Customer Success Manager to provide authorization for the integration. We will handle the rest!
Facility ID
⚠️ If you have multiple locations, Monument and swivl will work together to get a list of your Facility IDs (Uuids) so you don't have to manually compile the list.
Your Facility ID is a unique identifier assigned to each location in Monument. It looks something like this: 24ce67f1-96f7-11ef-94ab-XXXXXXXXXXXX
- In Monument, go to Facility Management
- The Facility ID is located in the URL bar (highlighted in screenshot below). Copy this for the property you are connecting to swivl

- Save your ID in a safe place!
- Alternatively, you can add this directly to swivl within Property Manager > Details > Location Features > FMS ID:

⚠️ Important: If you manage multiple facilities, each property has its own Facility ID. Make sure you copy the correct one for the facility you are setting up in swivl.
Connecting Monument to swivl
- In swivl, go to Settings and select FMS Integrations
- Choose Monument from the list of available integrations
- Enter your Portolfio Name, and Base URL in the fields provided
- Your API Key field will be filled out by swivl
- Your Portoflio Name can be provided by Monument
- Click Save to establish the connection.

💡 Tip: swivl supports both facility-specific credentials and shared master credentials. If your team has already provided swivl with master API keys, reach out to confirm whether your facility access has already been added rather than creating a duplicate set of credentials.
Setting Up Access Control (Optional)
If your facility uses gate or lock access control, you can configure it through Monument so that swivl-generated leads automatically receive access codes upon move-in.
To enable this in Monument:
- Go to Settings > Access Management.
- Click Add Plan and configure your access plan settings.

💡 Tip: Access control configuration is handled in Monument, not in swivl. You do not need to take any additional steps in swivl once your provider is connected in Monument. If you are unsure which provider your facility uses, check with your operations team or Monument support. |
Where to Find swivl-Generated Leads in Monument
Once the integration is live, any lead captured by your swivl chatbot will automatically appear in the Leads table in Monument.
To view leads:
- Log in to Monument
- Navigate to the Leads section from the main menu
- swivl leads will appear alongside leads from other sources

⚠️ Important: There is up to a 30-minute delay before a swivl lead appears in Monument. This is intentional. It ensures that if a prospect is still browsing or making changes, their information is not surfaced to your team prematurely. |
